Mike
Maunder is a veteran traveller. He has seen much of the world, and has
visited many observatories – both ancient and modern – in
Britain, Europe, Africa, Russia, China, Malaysia, Australia, Antarctica,
South America and North America. For many years he applied his skills as an
industrial chemist to the development of photographic emulsions, and he has a
considerable reputation as an astrophotographer. He has also observed
numerous total solar eclipses, and during the 1999 eclipse the shadow of the
Moon conveniently passed over his home on Alderney, in the Channel Islands. |
